Hello, this is Julie Candler with the BBC News.

The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson says he wants the country to become a hub of innovation and research, building on its international links around the world and its history as a trading nation. Addressing parliament, he said the new foreign policy laid out in a report was the most radical change since the Cold War. James Landale has more details. The big idea of this foreign policy review is that Britain must look to the Indo-pacific for new partnerships. The report says that is where the world's geopolitical and economic center of gravity is moving. But as well as providing you trade and security links, it also allows the UK to reshape its approach to China. The report says Beijing presents a systemic Challenge to Britain, security and values, but the UK will still pursue a positive trade and investment relationship with China. It says Russia is still the most acute threat to Britain security. There'll be a new counter terrorism operation center to improve the response to incidents.

The European Union's medicines regulator says it's convinced that the benefits of the Oxford–AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine outweigh the risks of side effects. The head of the agency, Emer Cooke, said it was carefully evaluating reports that a very small number of people who had the jab have developed blood clots. She said such a situation was to be expected. When you vaccinate millions of people, it's inevitable that you have rare or serious incidences of illnesses that occur after vaccination. And our role at the EMA is to evaluate these to make sure that any suspected adverse reactions are rapidly investigated. So, we can figure out is this a real side effect to the vaccine or is it a coincidence.

An international charity says Jihadists in Mozambique have beheaded children as young as 11 years old. Save the Children said many children were killed for refusing to join the militants.

People in Myanmar have been varying friends and relatives killed by the army during protests against last month's coup. There were reports of more than 30 funerals in Yangon alone. Here Is our Southeast Asia correspondent Jonathan Head. The irredeemably grim situation in Myanmar was brought home starkly today by the number of funerals after a weekend of savage repression by the security forces. In one central neighborhood this morning, a man lay dead in a pool of blood after being shot in the head by random gunfire. He was just walking along the street, not protesting. The police have been filmed at night dragging away the bodies of those they've shot. They are still terrorizing residents with wild gunfire. No one is safe. Going out is risky and staying at home, you can still be shot or taken away by the soldiers or police officers who break in through the front door.
